About

Idle Minutes is about…well, precisely that. That which fills my sketchbook, watercolor paper, canvas or mind during my idle minutes.

The posts are primarily from my sketchbooks.

Sometimes I write stories to go with the sketches.

Sometimes I create sketches to go with the stories.

Sometimes I just write stories.

Sometimes I just post sketches.

In general, I want to provide a look at the things in our lives that we rarely notice or consider. Those things that we pass by each day without giving them a thought or glance. I’ve found myself surprised at the humor one can find in mundane everyday life. Comments overheard…signs…faces…attire…absurd technology. And I’ve noticed over the years, that a lot of what goes on around us, is in a world of its own, oblivious to us and whether we exist or not.

Becoming aware of these things can be interesting and fun. And it makes good fodder for sketching. And sketching is a great way to spend your own idle minutes.

I hope you enjoy what you find here. And I hope you choose to comment on posts that strike your emotions. I really enjoy hearing from readers :-)

Happy reading!
