Portrait of a Hare

Portrait of a Hare

Sketch Text:

There were these two women sitting at a table near me at a local coffee shop recently. One of them was British and had a strong, refined accent.

I heard nothing they were saying except this one part of a sentence from the British girl: “…portrait of a hare…”.

It sounded so cool and British I decided to draw one. A hare that is.

If you know anyone from the U.K., particularly female with a nice mid-range voice, get them to say it for you with emphasis on “hare”. Pay them if you must. It'll be worth it ;-)

What magnificent ears, Don. Magnificent listening, I guess.

Yep, that’s why they are so hard to catch off guard Annie :-)

Oh my, Don! Your tale about a hare has really gotten into my hair – in fact it is harrying me as I try to come up with a cute reply. Maybe you should trade Ben for a harrier so you can hunt rabbits easier? Those British accents can really harry one, though, when trying to understand what they are saying. I guess my humor and playing on words is enough harrying for today, eh? Happy hunting for your next sketch!

  4. Don West says:

Hah! I think a Harrier would end up making the hare I was hunting about $30,000,000 a pound. But I would certainly bag the game that’s for sure lol! Presuming you mean the British carrier fighter jet.

    Will talk for money!

  6. Don West says:

I say! Jolly good idea Wendy!
